The G2 Gallery Presents Nature LA: Bernard Wolf
March 2, 2010 – March 30, 2010
Venice, CA – On Tuesday, March 2, 2010, The G2 Gallery will premiere Nature LA: Bernard Wolf, in the first solo exhibition of his photography. Bernard will present a selection of images from his series of night photography, "Nocturnal Botanica."
Shot primarily in the Venice/Santa Monica area, "Nocturnal Botanica" takes into consideration the landscaped trees and forgotten shrubbery—the often overlooked fixtures of the urban setting. Captured with long exposures using only available light, the sometimes bedraggled, sometimes meticulously pruned forms emerge as sculptural objects that appear to glow in the night. Bernard’s technique brings a sense of isolation and a spectral current to the banal spaces of the Los Angeles streetscape.
An Artist’s Reception will be held March 5, 2010, coinciding with Abbot Kinney First Fridays. Live entertainment will be provided by LA-based, experimental folk-rock artist Justin David. The G2 Gallery donates all proceeds from art sales to environmental charities.
