G2 Gallery in Venice Presents Jack Dykinga on the
Evening of August 1 As Part of an Environmental Exhibit
Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer attends G2 Gallery Abbot Kinney First Fridays to meet guests as his work is showcased at the Boundless Vision exhibit
Venice, CA – On August 1, 2008 G2 Gallery in Venice, CA will keep its doors open late as part of Abbot Kinney First Fridays to welcome landscape photographer Jack Dykinga to the Boundless Vision exhibit.  Together ,the photographer and the gallery will support and promote conservation, education and appreciation of our natural environment.
Dykinga is a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer and is a contributor to several prestigious publications including National Geographic and Arizona Highways.  His works are a blend of a photojournalistic, documentary approach and large-format landscape photography.  Dykinga has authored many books including Large Format Nature Photography, Jack Dykinga's Arizona and most recently Images: Jack Dykinga's Grand Canyon.
Environmental G2 Gallery is a natural fit to showcase Dykinga's landscape artwork. Amongst his many interests, he is known for drawing attention to environmental issues regarding the United States and Mexico border, which became a focus for him when he illuminated the richness and variety of the protected areas along the Rio Grand River corridor for National Geographic in 2007. Dykinga also currently serves on the board of the Sonoran National Park Project in an effort to create a new bi-national park on the border of Arizona and Sonora, Mexico.
G2, an environmentally conscious gallery, believes that photography is a medium, perhaps more than any other, that has the power to show both what is and what could be.  100% of proceeds are donated to environmental charities, including Friends of the Ballona Wetlands and the Environmental Media Association.  The gallery is also actively involved in the Venice community, participating in Abbot Kinney First Fridays, a summer tradition where the merchants of Abbot Kinney keep their doors open late on the first Friday of every month so patrons can experience all the culture offered by the eclectic restaurants, bars, shops and galleries.
The Boundless Vision exhibit is currently on display at the G2 Gallery, featuring artists Frans Lanting, Larry Ulrich, Jim Stimson, David Muench, Marc Muench, Thomas Mangelsen.  Jack Dykinga will join the exhibit on August 1 and will attend his show opening to mingle with guests and sign books.  Boundless Vision will run through September 19.
