Venice, CA – On January 14, The G2 Gallery will unveil two new exhibits, “The Gottlieb Native Garden” and “National Parks of Alaska and Hawaii.”

“The Gottlieb Native Garden” celebrates the backyard garden of G2 Gallery owners Susan and Dan Gottlieb, and Susan’s new book: The Gottlieb Native Garden: A California Love Story. Susan and Dan’s photos reveal an urban oasis in Beverly Hills, which is a Xerces Society-designated Pollinator Habitat and an official National Wildlife Federation Certified Backyard Wildlife Habitat. The exhibit underscores the need to incorporate California native and drought-tolerant plants to conserve water and to garden for wildlife, while the book documents the evolution of Susan’s garden, from an ivy-covered hillside to an environmental laboratory. The New York Times covered Susan and her yard in 2008 before it was fully mature:

Coming on the heels of the highly successful “100 Years of National Parks” series, “National Parks of Alaska and Hawaii” explores the national treasures of our country’s furthest states with photographs of burning volcanoes, majestic moose, tranquil beaches and dense glaciers. The country’s geographic range is showcased in the works of 20 artists, including renowned photographers Robert Glenn Ketchum and Art Wolfe along with emerging artists Tin Man Lee, a biomedical engineer with a passion for landscape and wildlife photography, and Adhika Lie, an aerospace engineer returning to his childhood interest in nature photography.

Featured Artists in “National Parks of Alaska and Hawaii”:
Carl Battreall, Kevin Ebi, Warren Fintz, Nicki Geigert, Félix Gil de la Casa, Javier Gil Vieco, Rick Kattelmann, Robert Glenn Ketchum, Matt Kuhns, Jean-René Leblanc, Tin Man Lee, Adhika Lie, Michael Miner, Andrew Peacock, Carl Richards, Cheyne Walls, Buddy Weiss, Art Wolfe, Shin Yau, Mark Zborowski
