May 4, 2010 – June 20, 2010
In 20-years of publishing American Photo magazine has only designated four photographers in their American Masters series: Henri Cartier-Bresson, Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton and Annie Leibovitz. Los Angeles photographer Robert Glenn Ketchum is now the fifth in this series and the only imagemaker among these photographic luminaries that works from nature. In celebration of this acknowledgment, The G2 Gallery will present an update of Robert’s work since exhibiting a retrospective of his work in 2008. Opening May 4, the show will offer select imagesfrom Robert’s ongoing efforts to protect the salmon fishery of Bristol Bay and the related habitat of southwest Alaska. Also on view will be new work from his digitally altered “mural” project.
