Nature LA: Rosa Romero

February 1, 2011 – February 27, 2011

About Rosa Romero

Rosa Romero is a self-taught photographer based in the Wilmington district of Los Angeles, who specializes in environmental design for people with special needs. Rosa spent much of her childhood in the hospital dealing with severe complications from Celiac disease, which was not diagnosed until later in life. It was during this time that Rosa taught herself to draw and paint, which soon led her to explore photography. Photography allowed Rosa to capture the things she loved; above all, nature. Passionate about the outdoors, Rosa resolved that she would do her part to be a sustainable artist, exclusively using papers made from sustainably harvested trees. She looks for opportunities to create awareness for sustainable art practice in all her endeavors, including art 4 the blind, which allows visually impaired people to experience art, and the Project Shine artist's collective she co-founded, which designs art and lifestyle elements for people with special needs using only recycled or natural materials.

About Nature LA

Rosa Romero's artistic vision of the natural world is succinctly expressed in a series of images exhibited in Nature LA. The G2 Gallery’s ongoing series of fine art photography expresses themes dealing with our environment and identifies the emerging trends in the cutting edge of a new and visually alluring form of nature photography.
