March 30, 2010 - April 25, 2010
Angela Hanka is an observer of the natural world and her preferred tool is the camera. Angela learned how to use a camera at a young age, acquiring her first SLR camera in junior high. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she studied biological conservation where the camera became an extension of her scientific eye. For the past 3 years, Angela has often made her subject the flowers she encounters in Southern California gardens and on hikes. Angela’s intention in documenting flowers is to give recognitions to the small miracles of the natural world before they are lost on the hustle and bustle of our larger, contrived one.
Angela Hanka's artistic vision of the natural world is succinctly expressed in a series of images exhibited in Nature LA. The G2 Gallery’s ongoing series of fine art photography expresses themes dealing with our environment and identifies the emerging trends in the cutting edge of a new and visually alluring form of nature photography.
Opening Reception Friday April 2, 2010
The G2 Gallery is free and open to the public. Admission to special events, including artist receptions, is $5 at the door and will directly support environmental charities.
