Emerging VI is The G2 Gallery's sixth annual juried exhibition of images by early career photographers working with the subjects of nature, wildlife, and landscape. The work of the selected artists' expresses G2's environmental mission through their photography and a commitment to conservation through their personal choices.

Robin Black is an award-winning photographer based in Los Angeles. A legal assistant by trade, Robin has been photographing professionally for five years, using her collegiate darkroom experience at Texas A&M University as a technical foundation. Since delving more deeply into photography, Robin has earned various awards for her landscapes, including First Place at both the International Conservation Photography Awards and the National Park Service’s Spirit of the Mountains competition. Her work has been featured in the Burke Museum of Natural History in Seattle and the Yosemite National Park Museum as part of the prestigious Yosemite Renaissance exhibit. She has also been published in Outdoor Photographer magazine. Robin is currently working on a documentary photography project about Owens Lake and the surrounding water rights issues in Los Angeles.
Susan McConnell is a photographer and biology professor at Stanford University. She teaches classes on both brain development and conservation photography at Stanford, and has been at Stanford for more than 25 years in different capacities. A member of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences, Susan’s interest in biology was the foundation for her passion for conservation photography. Susan’s images have appeared in Smithsonian Magazine, Nature’s Best Photography and Outdoor Photographer. Her photographs of Namibian elephants graced the cover of Smithsonian in 2010 and were exhibited in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Susan was also mentored by internationally renowned photographer Frans Lanting.
