Over the course of his 30-year career, internationally acclaimed photographer Art Wolfe has worked on every continent and in hundreds of locations. Art maintains that he does not have a particular area of interest in terms of his subject-matter, and indeed he has set himself apart as a master of landscape, wildlife, and ethnographic genres with images whose only common motifs are a technical prowess and a “focus…on what’s beautiful on the Earth.” It is within that purview that Art’s photography hopes to win support for today’s urgent conservation issues. In 1999, Art was named one of the University of Washington’s list of 100 “most famous, fascinating, and influential” alumni for a host of accomplishments that to date include over 60 monographs, multiple awards for photo and conservation work, and three photo-documentary based television programs, including the PBS series “Art Wolfe’s Travels to the Edge.” Art remains a native resident of Seattle where he maintains his gallery, stock agency, production company, and digital photography school.
