About Nita Winter

Nita Winter, a Sausalito based award-winning photographer, moved to San Francisco in 1976 where she began her photography career. She documented her work fighting wildfires in northern California, later focusing on her passion: capturing the rich and diverse culture of the Bay Area. Nita’s first major project was “Children of the Tenderloin,” a series illustrating the need for  a school in a rough San Francisco neighborhood.  Her clients include non-profits agencies, national and international corporations and publications: New York Times, Sesame Street, and Parenting Magazines. Seven years ago she began collaborating with her partner, nature photographer Rob Badger, to create an exquisite series documenting our vanishing wildflowers. They are currently working on their first joint book “Impressions of Spring, Wildflowers of the West on our Public Lands.”

The G2 Gallery is free and open to the public. Admission to special events, including artist receptions, is $5 at the door and will directly support environmental charities.
