About Garth Lenz

Garth Lenz specializes in landscape and aerial photography work exploring environmental issues and threatened wilderness regions within the context of their impact on human populations. He has been documenting the Boreal forest and the Alberta Tar Sands since 1992. Garth's work has been featured in TIME, The Christian Science Monitor, New York Times Sunday Edition, and many more leading publications. His imagery has been adopted by leading Non Governmental Agencies to depict their urgent environmental initiatives. Images featured in Boreal Future have received first prize in the Nature/Trees category at the International Photography Awards and second and third prize in the photojournalism and environment categories at the Paris Px3 Prix de la Photographie. Garth lives in Victoria, British Columbia with his wife and daughters.
