About Buddy Weiss

Buddy Weiss was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo. He received his first camera, a Brownie Hawkeye, at the age of 13, and by 16 he had already won an award in the international Photokina competition. To afford a college education, Buddy was forced to sell his camera equipment and other possessions. He earned a bachelor degree of journalism at the University of Missouri and then moved to Southern California. During his career as an advertising writer/creative director/agency owner and TV commercial director, Buddy continued to make images by collaborating with some of the best still photographers and cinematographers in the world. Buddy’s passion for the camera was renewed when he began making images showcasing the community he truly loves, Malibu. Those images are now compiled in a book entitled To Malibu With Love and are featured in Emerging III.

The G2 Gallery is free and open to the public. Admission to special events, including artist receptions, is $5 at the door and will directly support environmental charities.
