About Beverly Houwing

Los Angeles native Beverly Houwing has lived a life filled with travel. Since the tender age of 8, she has documented outside lands with a focused lens and a curious eye. The African continent became a recurring theme in Beverly's work early on and visits to sites like the Serengeti and Masai Mara evoked for her a sense that she was witnessing history. Photography and travel continued to play a role in the direction that Beverly took and she returns to Africa frequently to see Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Zanzibar. Beverly’s photography has been exhibited at UCLA Extension building and she frequently raises money for animal welfare charities by donating her artwork to nonprofits including Best Friends Animal Society.

The G2 Gallery is free and open to the public. Admission to special events, including artist receptions, is $5 at the door and will directly support environmental charities.
