About Ian Shive
Los Angeles-based photographer Ian Shive is an award-winning conservation photographer, author, educator, film producer and environmental advocate. In 2011, Shive was honored with the Sierra Club’s Ansel Adams Award for Conservation Photography and published his best-selling book, The National Parks: Our American Landscape. Among his list of clients are The Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club and the National Park Conservation Association, and his work appears regularly in periodicals such as National Geographic, Time, The New York Times and hundreds of others. In addition, Shive promotes the work of his fellow nature photographers through his company Tandem Stills + Motion, Inc., which he founded in 2010 and is one of the world’s leading photo and motion clip licensing agencies with more than 400 photographers in a wide range of genres. When he is not running operations at Tandem or fulfilling an assignment, Shive shares his knowledge as a photojournalism instructor at the University of Southern California.
